Pinholian Meditation - Novice Level

For just a moment, imagine the lively plinking of a mandolin joined by the low, harmonious strains of a violin.  Now, visualize a montage of some of the most memorable scenes from your life.  Add and remove instruments, and adjust the tempo of the background music to match the mood of each scene.

If you were able to both laugh and cry, there is no need to waste time on regret.

Sometimes this simple philosophical exercise makes me feel better, sometimes it doesn’t.

Either way, I enjoy the Bluegrass.

Kind of like Cliff Notes for Zen, eh? Buddhism on a Budget? Either way, I like.

'Cliff Notes for Zen'!  Where were you when I was trying to come up with a title?

      Thanks.

I like the simplicity of that, although it does make me feel bad that I never did learn to play the banjo.

I owned a banjo at one time.  Attempting to learn it brought no peace, whatsoever.  To me, or my parents.

      Thanks.

I like Bluegrass too...years ago, I used to go listen to a local group known as "Mountain Smoke". The youngest member was a very talented kid who was about 16 at the time and a neighbor of my mother's good friends who liked the music but hated the noise which was loud and long coming from a nearby garage where the kid practiced all the time. That kid is Vince Gill. I still like the music of Mountain Smoke although they have grown old(er). Vince Gill's talent speaks for itself.

Maybe I'll just imagine my life to their music.

Interesting.  If you imagine your life set to the music of Mountain Smoke, which instrument would you be?  I think I would like to be the guitar processor; variety, you know...
