Grated Expectations
The question has been posed, from several fronts apparently, “What do I expect from my blog?”, pressuring me into an uncomfortable situation where I was forced to think. Of course, any rational explanation of what I hope to get from this blog should, undoubtedly, contain some consideration of what I’ve put into it.
As you are probably aware, the processing of certain animals renders fat and other by-products which, by themselves, battle for acceptance; but blended and seasoned properly are just as marketable, if not more so, than the original cut of meat.
In my efforts as a struggling writer I’ve found that the processing of information while creating bulkier literary entrees yields its own form of lard and lunchmeat. Mental overflow that, packaged properly, might find some favor in the public arena.
So, I suppose the simple, honest answer to what I expect from my blog is…
a reasonable amount of baloney.
How about it "Wordvixen, Jen/domestika, Wolf, Mitchell, Travis; what do you expect from your blogs?

As originator of this meme which some have defined as a "pox", I have only one question regarding your eloquent response. Why didn't you spell it "bologna"?

Two reasons, most likely. I felt the implications of my spelling more appropriately defined what results on this blog...and I'm originally from Kansas.
And thanks a lot for stopping by and commenting! Don't be a stranger!

Funny, when I was growing up I thought that "balogna" and "baloney" were two different foods. Balogna being the light colored, light flavored stuff, and balogney being the darker full of spices and salt food.
And here's my entry!

For all I know you might be right.
Thanks for participating.

@Wordvixen: hmmm...for me, the same thing happened with Whisky/Whiskey. As a child, I thought the vowel-deprived liquor was fowl-derived, as in Wild Turkey.
Turns out I had 'em backwards.
Bourbon is whiskey. Otherwise, it would have been labeled Wild Turky.
And THAT may have caused an international incident!
(This, my dear, is baloney of the darkest kind
Cheers,
Mitch

Is any thing more fulfilling than met expectations?

Did you say 'filling', or 'ful-filling'? My eyesight isn't what it used to be.

Pinhole, your logic is mind-boggling, and your writing has lived up to everything you could have hoped for.
Didn't I tell you that I was very sure you'd come up with the most entertaining post for this meme? Thanks for posting and playing along.

Thanks, PC. And thanks for challenging me.

Hi Pinhole!
Timeliness is next to Goodliness. I actually have an older post that's more appropriate to your question - Opportunity Knocks You Out.
Thanks for clewing me in.
We should all hope to hold a candle up to your bologna. They're both rendered lard, eh? Well, maybe not the new ones. They seem to be loaded with Febreze.
Cheers,
Mitch

Nicely presented information in this post, I prefer to read this kind of stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is good. Thanks for the post.
