Duck-Billed Platitudes
Given the distressing state of the global economy I feel a bit bad about having to lay off my employer, though I’m confident that in due course they’ll find another Pinhole, or at least a more agreeable substitute.
On several occasions I’ve had “discussions” with supervisors, and found them invigorating and enlightening. The supervisors seemed to only find them unnecessary. Witnessing my rapidly growing frustration with these “chats” a colleague recently advised me, “Don’t judge your boss until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes.”
So I stole his shoes (luckily, size 10), and after approximately 20 minutes I had traveled about 5,280 feet, but felt no closer to an understanding of his position. Oddly enough, when he caught up with me he exhibited little tolerance for my exercise in empathy.
On the stroll back to work, all I was able to glean from this experiment was that the world isn’t any rosier in your stocking feet.

That was a laugh! Good one, Pinhole.

shod or unshod, things are a bit bleak, but I checked my garden today and there are a few things blooming.

Lucky you. At least you'll eat.

"I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet."
So tell me, are you responsible for that debacle, as well?

No! I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of, but I've never stolen anyone's feet! Unless you're talking about 1978...

I think going barefoot in the park was supposed to be THE thing. You were apparently overdressed, sporting that pair of stockings.

You're right, but after all...they were dark blue.

The moral of this story doesn't have anything to do with argyle, does it by any chance?

I hadn't thought about argyle. In fact, I hadn't really thought about a moral. If you can find one, feel free to expound on it.
