A Shot In The Dark

A shutter and some overalls make tricks of
light and shadow dance and sometimes
catch the smile behind the
squint.
But, rarely, can the viewer spy the layers
left unfolded, or to clearly
know just what the smiling
meant.
The lens, it sees so much, yet sees so little
once it’s done, that when the print gives
voice and screams its last
refrain.
Despite perceived transparency the
image that was captured won’t reveal
which one’s about to go
insane.

Quite a twist on the idea of the vacuity of the photographic image. My best. Count Sneaky

No, the lens doesn't comment... fortunately.

Some of those old family pictures look very odd indeed these days. I have one or two about the place ... strange indeed!
